The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has released the figures for its gaming revenue for July 2023, covering casino games, sports betting, fantasy contests and video gaming terminals (VGTs).
Across all avenues, the statewide gaming revenue for Pennsylvania reached a total of $467m, a 9% increase year-on-year.

Sports Wagering
When broken down into the different divisions of gambling, sports wagering in the state saw the largest difference compared to last year, with $35.4m marking a 48% increase.
The total handle for sports wagering was $338.5m, a steady increase of 1% from July 2022.
Valley Forge Casino Resort reported the largest handle and revenue for sports betting, at $127.6m and $13.7m respectively.
Although it has the highest revenue, the 12% increase by Valley Forge Casino Resort is dwarfed by the 381% recorded by Harrah's Philadelphia.
Harrah's Philadelphia reported $1.1m in revenue in July, with the relatively new venue Live! Casino Pittsburgh close behind after recording a 288% increase.
Despite recently entering into a multi-year agreement with bet365, Presque Isle Downs and Casino saw a 99.6% decrease in revenue, down to a total of $884.
iGaming and Slots
This is followed closely by iGaming slot revenue, which recorded a 32% growth totalling $94.9m, no doubt supported by the overall 35% increase in iGaming revenue, which recorded a sum of $132.9m.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Racecourse saw the largest revenue of the month from iGaming, a 41% rise totalling $54.4m.
Once again, Harrah’s Philadelphia saw the largest increase in percentages, rising 80% and taking it to $5.7m in total revenue.
Out of the iGaming operators, Mount Airy Casino Resort was the only one to record revenue from iPoker anywhere near the operator’s iGaming amounts, with $1.6m in iPoker, $1.7m in iSlots and $849,797 in iTables.
In comparison, the $54.4m total iGaming revenue from Hollywood Casino at Penn National Racecourse was split up between $346,536 in iPoker, $37.2m in iSlots and $16.8m in iTables.
Fantasy
However, the biggest decrease was found in the revenue from fantasy contests, which saw a drop of 24%, down to a total of $655,886.
Out of the fantasy sports operators, all of them bar one reported a decrease in revenue, with DraftKings noting an 8% drop to $551,233; FanDuel reporting a 61% change to $96,917 and both Fantasy Sports Games and Sportshub Technologies falling by 88%.
The only operator reporting a positive increase in fantasy sports was Underdog Sports, a 28% change resulting in $4,025 in revenue.
