MGM Resorts Foundation donates $2.7m to non-profit organisations

MGM Resorts Foundation, operated by MGM Resorts, has awarded $2.7m to non-profit organisations through its Community Grant Fund.

A total of 107 organisations received grants, including those involved in homelessness, veterans and military families, food insecurity, education, health and wellness.

Founded in 2002, The MGM Resorts Foundation was established to give the company a chance to donate to local causes, including contributions from its guests.

Since then, it’s raised over $100m in grants for more than 1,500 different charities.

Maria Gatti, Philanthropy and Community Engagement VP, said: “MGM Resorts employees continue to amaze us with their generosity and commitment to our local communities.

“On behalf of our 107 grant recipients, thank you for your donations and even more importantly, for enlivening our company’s belief in investing in our communities through giving as well as volunteerism.”

The non-profit organisations are based across North America, including Nevada, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, Northeast Ohio, the DC Metropolitan area and Western Massachusetts.

The grant decisions, such as choosing which organisations will receive the donations, are finalised by the Community Grant Council.

This board is made up of volunteer MGM employees, each of whom will represent their region and shortlist different local charities.

MGM Resorts International also absorbs all administrative costs associated with distributing the grants, ensuring that the entire donation amount is reserved for the organisations.

Recently, BetMGM launched in the UK, debuting its online casino and sports betting services in the country.
