PlayAGS, a slot, table and casino product supplier, has appointed Robert ‘Bob’ Blair as its Deputy General Counsel.
Prior to his appointment, Blair held the role of Global General Counsel at Aruze Gaming, where he previously worked as Global Deputy General Counsel and Global Senior IP Counsel.
Aruze Gaming has recently sold off some of its divisions to different companies, such as its electronic table game assets to Interblock and the pending acquisition of its slot operations to Play Synergy.
Blair also has experience as the US Patent Attorney at EIP as well as the VP of Patents at Unwired Planet.
With over 20 years in the industry, Blair will bring experience in budget streamlining, portfolio transactions, litigation and enforcement strategies, patent prosecution and portfolio management to his role at AGS.
Rob Ziems, AGS Chief Legal Officer and Secretary, said: "Bob is an exceptional legal mind who is a valuable addition to the AGS leadership team.
"With his extensive knowledge and experience on corporate legal affairs and patent matters, Bob will be a key player in protecting and advancing our business and our brand as AGS continues to capitalize on many growth opportunities ahead."
As Deputy General Counsel, Blair will be responsible for overseeing a range of legal matters, including working with the rest of the executive team to ensure compliance and governance matters are properly adhered to.
Blair has joined AGS during a time of international expansion, as noted in its Q2 report: “We sold units into 29 US states, four Canadian provinces and one international jurisdiction outside of North America throughout Q2 2023, as we continue to successfully implement strategic initiatives intended to broaden our customer account penetration, particularly with larger corporate buyers.
“AGS intends to leverage its global fleet optimization initiatives to capital efficiently stabilize its international EGM installed base over the remainder of 2023."
