American Gaming Association elects Michael Rumbolz as Chairman

The American Gaming Association (AGA) has selected Michael Rumbolz as its new Chairman, effective from January 2024.

Rumbolz will succeed Jim Allen, Hard Rock International Chairman and Seminole Gaming CEO, who was appointed in January 2022.

On the appointment, Rumbolz said: “I am grateful for the opportunity to help shape gaming’s future as the AGA’s next chair.

“From stopping illegal gambling to evolving responsible gambling, the AGA is tackling transformational issues and I am eager to build on the progress made during Jim’s tenure.”

Prior to his role as AGA Chairman, Rumbolz served as the President and CEO of Everi, as well as Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board and Chief Deputy Attorney General of Nevada.

Bill Miller, AGA President and CEO, said: “It’s an honour to welcome Mike, an industry legend in his own right, as the next AGA chairman.

“Mike’s career as an operator, manufacturer and regulator is unparalleled and will be vital to driving meaningful progress on industry priorities.”

Rumbolz has experience in the manufacturing and distribution of gaming equipment, gambling operations, fintech, as well as gaming legislation and regulation.

Miller continued: “Jim’s knowledge, insight and guidance have helped the AGA advance our mission and maximise our impact for the industry.

“He’s been a trusted advisor to me, and I am thankful for his partnership over the last two years.”

Jim Allen’s tenure oversaw the industry trying to recover from the pandemic amongst rising levels of illegal gambling – a trend seen on a global level.

On stepping down, Allen said: “Our industry and this association have never been stronger.

“I am immensely proud of our success over the last two years accelerating gaming’s recovery while defining and advancing new priorities.

“The AGA is well-positioned under Mike and Bill’s leadership.”
