Hard Rock appoints John Rees as SVP of Hotel Operations

Rees has experience in managing hospitality operations across four continents and dozens of countries.

Hard Rock International has appointed John Rees as its SVP of Hotel Operations.

In this role, Rees will be responsible for all aspects of the hotels, including both franchise and corporate properties.

Jon Lucas, Hard Rock International COO, said: "We're thrilled to have John lead the Hard Rock Hotel team as we continue to elevate our position as one of the world's most recognised global hospitality brands.

"His depth of experience guiding world-class luxury and lifestyle hotels paired with his results-driven leadership style makes John an invaluable addition to our company."

Rees has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including studies in hospitality management and leadership programmes.

Before his role with Hard Rock International, Rees was the VP of Resort Operations and Experience at Marriott Vacations Worldwide, as well as the Senior Director of Operations in the Middle East and Africa for Marriott International.

In a similar position, Rees was also the Senior Director of Operations at The Ritz-Cartol Hotel Company in Dubai, UAE.

On his appointment, Rees said: "I'm thrilled to join Hard Rock at this pivotal point of the Hard Rock Hotels brand journey.

"Our future pipeline of hotel projects is very robust which will allow me to work with my teams to innovate and create more of the special brand touchpoints and guest experiences our fans expect.

Before Christmas, Hard Rock International celebrated a groundbreaking ceremony for its new property in Athens.
