The New York Gaming Commission has reported its mobile sports wagering figures for December 2023, recording $188.3m in gross gaming revenue (GGR).
This amount was the highest monthly GGR the Big Apple had registered throughout the entirety of 2023 and represented a 32.8% year-on-year increase.
Net revenue to education was therefore also at its highest for 2023 for December, sitting just shy of the $100m mark, with the total hitting $96m.
Mobile sports wagering handle did make a slight decline in December when compared to November, which was of course the highest month ever recorded, sitting at $2.11bn.
But the figure for December mobile sports wagering handle was $2.04bn, which still means the last three months in a row have hit the $2bn mark since New York became the first state to do so in October.
Compared to December 2022, this figure represents a year-on-year increase of 25.8%.
Looking on a more individual basis, FanDuel’s GGR in December was just shy of $100m, being valued at $93.6m, up from $69.2m in November.
DraftKings was behind FanDuel with its GGR, hitting $65.2m, which wasn't the case in Ohio, where DraftKings edged FanDuel for the state's November online sports gaming taxable revenue.
BetMGM, for the fourth consecutive month, recorded in excess of $100m for its mobile sports wagering handle, reaching $126.5m in December.
