DraftKings prepares to launch online sportsbook in Vermont
The DraftKings Sportsbook app will debut exactly one month before the Super Bowl game, which will be played on 11 Feb 2024.
DraftKings has announced plans to launch its online sportsbook in Vermont.
The opening day has been set for 11 January 2024, although the app is already available for customers to download ahead of time.
Vermont will be the 26th state in the US that DraftKings has launched its sportsbook in, and the fifth New England state.
DraftKings had previously launched its online sportsbook and iGaming products in Ontario on 18 May 2022.
Matt Kalish, DraftKings North America President, said: “As a Boston-based company, we are thrilled for the opportunity to further expand in the New England region and provide Vermont with access to safe and legal sports betting.
“This is an exciting time of year with the NFL Playoffs about to kick off, and Vermonters will now have the opportunity to engage with their favourite sports on our industry-leading DraftKings Sportsbook app.”
The DraftKings Sportsbook allows customers to place wagers on a variety of leagues and tournaments, including the upcoming Super Bowl.
They will also be able to access a range of markets and wager types, including same-game and cross-sport parlays, in-game betting and special odds boosts.
As part of the preparations ahead of the launch, DraftKings has also participated in several community events in Vermont.
This includes donating $25,000 to the Arbor Day Foundation, an organisation that manages large-scale reforestation projects throughout the jurisdiction.
Vermont isn’t the only territory where DraftKings is expanding into though, as the company launched in North Carolina only a few days ago too.
