DraftKings and NASCAR have agreed terms on a written designation agreement, which will allow DraftKings to operate in the US state of North Carolina, pending licensure and regulatory approvals.
This will be the 27th state in which DraftKings operates, after it was announced last month that the operator would be entering the market in Vermont on 11 January.
On top of this, DraftKings has also been named the exclusive daily fantasy sports partner of NASCAR in the US and Canada, become an Authorized Gaming Operator of NASCAR and will also receive additional sponsorship benefits within the NASCAR ecosystem nationally.
President, DraftKings North America, Matt Kalish, said: “DraftKings and NASCAR have collaborated closely with each other over the years, sharing a like-minded commitment to enhancing the fan experience.
“We look forward to the next chapter in our journey together and offering our leading mobile sportsbook to fans in the state of North Carolina.”
NASCAR MD, Sports Betting, Joe Solosky, added: “DraftKings has a proven track record of enhancing the fan experience across sports.
“We are thrilled to continue working with DraftKings to deliver NASCAR fans more engagement opportunities and bring its leading mobile sportsbook to North Carolina.”
In news relating to DraftKings, the state of Ohio recently released its November sports gaming revenue figures, showing DraftKings had generated the largest percentage of the state’s November online sports gaming taxable revenue at $22.5m.
