Malta-based iGaming studio RubyPlay has expanded its partnership with PokerStars, a brand owned by Flutter Entertainment.

The expansion involves the launch of RubyPlay's games portfolio in the regulated markets of Spain and Romania.

This development comes after the successful introduction of RubyPlay's games in Italy, where player engagement and retention surpassed predictions.

The extended collaboration includes plans for RubyPlay to create four titles for PokerStars. The initial title, Yo Ho Ho, demonstrated strong performance among Italian players.

Dr Eyal Loz, RubyPlay CPO, said: “We are delighted to be expanding our partnership with PokerStars and taking our successful collaboration into Spain and Romania. Growth is our top priority and we look forward to introducing our diverse slots content to new audiences hungry for entertaining games.

"We thank PokerStars for giving us a platform to showcase our dynamic, forward-thinking content and look forward to further success together.”

The appointment of Olga Sirokha as Director of Partnerships at RubyPlay adds to the company's efforts to strengthen relationships with existing partners and explore new agreements with operators in key regulated regions. Sirokha brings over two decades of experience in the gaming industry, particularly in Latin America's land-based casino sector.

RubyPlay's collaboration with PokerStars follows other significant partnerships, including agreements with NetBet Italy and Reevo. These partnerships contributed to the integration of over 80 video slot games into various platforms, aiming to enhance RubyPlay's presence in the Italian market.

In a parallel development, Playson, a digital entertainment supplier, secured a partnership with PokerStars to provide games via Relax Gaming across multiple markets.

Playson's growth strategy includes expanding into online casino operators worldwide, starting with the UK and other licensed markets for PokerStars, with plans to release content in Spain and Ontario in the near future.
