The Potawatomi Casino Hotel in Milwaukee has announced the dates for the grand openings of its retail sportsbook and poker room, marking the final phase of the casino's $190m renovations.
Dominic Ortiz, Potawatomi Casino Hotel CEO, disclosed that Friday 3 May 2024, will witness the official unveiling of the 14-table Poker Room and the Las Vegas-style Sportsbook, both situated on the first level.
Construction on these venues began in September 2023 and signifies the culmination of the casino's renovation project.
Ortiz stated: “We are excited to bring the next level of an entertaining sports betting atmosphere to our guests. We appreciate the patience our guests have given us while we build out these two extraordinary projects. I can assure them, it will be well worth the wait.”
The Poker Room will feature 14 tables offering various games, including 1-3 No Limit, 2-5 No Limit and Pot Limit Omaha (PLO).
Additionally, promotions such as Hourly High Hand Jackpots and Bad Beat Jackpot will be available. The Poker Room will use the food and beverage services from its neighbouring Sportsbook.
The Potawatomi Sportsbook will span 6,500 square feet and boast a two-floor layout, a 2,000 square foot LED screen, a broadcast booth equipped with a professional quality 3-camera system and over 20 TVs, with seating capacity for over 200 patrons. Kiosks and ticket writers will be accessible to all casino guests.
Sean Cullen, Sportsbook Director, said: “There is not a retail betting space outside of Las Vegas that can compete with the high-end venue we’re unveiling on 3 May. With the 75 kiosks we currently have, we are number two in the country for gross gaming revenue of publicly reporting sportsbooks. We believe our new retail sports betting venue will make us a top travel destination in the Midwest.”
Moreover, the Potawatomi Sportsbook will offer a variety of food and beverage options, including forty-eight beers on tap.
This development follows Potawatomi Casino Hotel’s implementation of the IGT Advantage casino management system at its Carter location back in April 2023.
Additionally in 2022, the casino's expansion into legal sports betting aligned with the state of Wisconsin's efforts to provide regulated gambling options.
