Traditionally the opening event for horseracing’s flat season, Doncaster has been added to William Hill’s 2024 portfolio following its announcement as Lincoln Handicap sponsor.
The operator is set to sponsor the entire seven-race card, with the one-mile flat handicap horserace being added, with the Spring Mile, Cammidge Trophy and Brocklesby Stakes also being featured among the William Hill title.
William Hill has amassed a collection of big race sponsorships this year, as it is also set as the Official Betting Partner of the Grand National Meeting in April. Following on later in the year as the sponsor of the Cheltenham October meeting, the new Grade 1 Formby Novices’ Hurdle at Aintree – which is held on boxing day – and the Grade 1 Punchestown Champion Chase.

"The dust has only just settled on the Cheltenham Festival, but with the William Hill Lincoln kicking off the new British Flat season on Saturday, and the Grand National Festival, a meeting we are the Official Betting Partner of, only a few weeks away, it’s a very important and busy time for us.

Heading the betting on the race are Karl Burke’s Liberty Lane at 4/1 and Simon & Ed Crisford’s Awaal – which finished second in last year’s contest – alongside last year’s winner, Migration, currently at 12/1.
