Sports betting brand Meridianbet has become the exclusive sponsor of FC AEL Limassol in a landmark collaboration that is the largest football sponsorship deal in Cyprus’ history.

Headquartered in the Cypriot capital of Limassol, Merdianbet’s new deal with the city’s FC AEL Limassol will see the company’s logo displayed on the front of the new team kit. The agreement has been signed for the duration of the upcoming 2024-25 season.

Commenting on the collaboration, Andreas Georgiou, Chairman of AEL Limassol, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "It is with great pleasure that we present our major sponsor for the 2024-25 season.

"The partnership with Meridianbet represents the largest commercial agreement in our football department's history, heralding a new chapter filled with optimism for the future. We share the same values and vision for the future, and we are confident that together we will achieve great success."

Meridianbet will be hoping this sponsorship collaboration will further increase sports betting traffic through its online platform in the Cypriot market.

The company has had a busy month, following approval for the introduction of its sports betting services to the South African market towards the end of June being closely followed by the unveiling of 180,000+ betting options for Wimbledon 2024.

Chrysothemi Valanidou, CEO of Meridianbet Cyprus, spoke on this latest collaboration, saying: "We are delighted to announce this new partnership between Meridianbet and AEL.

"As one of the top betting companies globally, becoming the official sponsor of AEL is part of our strategy to promote sports and fair play. Our decision to support AEL is based on shared ambitions, and we are convinced that together we will bring success and excitement to the fans."
