Macau’s ‘Big 6’ concessionaires are allowed to provide money exchange services in its casinos.

The statement was posted on Macau’s Official Gazette, under Chief Executive Order No. 137/2024 to 142/2024, in which the concessionaires were authorised “to carry out, at its own risk, the exchange trade in the places where games of chance are operated.”

The authorised concessionaires included:

  • MGM Grand Paradise with casinos MGM Macau and MGM Cotai;
  • Galaxy Casino with Casino Star World, Casino Galaxy Macau, Casino Broadway and Casino Waldo;
  • Venetian Macau with Casino Sands, Casino Venetian, Casino The Plaza Macau, Casino The Londoner Macau and Casino Parisian Macau;
  • Melco Resorts (Macau) with Casino Altira, Casino City of Dreams, Casino Studio City, Mocha Golden Dragon, Mocha Hotel Grand Dragon, Mocha Hotel Royal, Mocha Hotel Sintra, Mocha Kuong Fat and Mocha Porto Interior;
  • Wynn Resorts (Macau) with Casino Wynn Macau and Casino Palácio Wynn; and
  • SJM Resorts with Casino Lisboa, Casino Grand Lisboa, Casino Grand Lisboa Palace, Casino Oceanus no Pelota Basca, Casino Landmark, Casino Grandview, Casino Kam Pek Paradise, Casino Casa Real, Casino Emperor Palace, Casino Ponte 16, Casino Le Royal Arc (Casino L' Arc Macau) and Casino Legend Palace.

The update came after Macau introduced a new law criminalising illegal money exchanges in casinos.

This was after a major crackdown against illegal money exchange led by the Chinese Government, which left analysts concerned about its impact on Macau’s gaming and gambling sector.
