Merkur Casino Aberdeen has announced the completion of its inaugural six-week intensive croupier training programme.
Four trainees – Ayodele Ladi-James, Daniel Murray, Megija Jerjomina and Ryan Dale – underwent a rigorous 40-hour-a-week curriculum. The course combined theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, focusing on popular casino games such as American Roulette and Three Card Poker.
Under the guidance of mentors, participants honed their skills in game management, customer interaction and handling of gaming equipment. The programme also covered other fundamentals, including responsible gambling practices and anti-money laundering procedures.
Additionally, a large emphasis was placed on developing essential soft skills such as communication, attention to detail and customer service.
Commenting on the programme, Simon Parr, Manager at Merkur Casino Aberdeen, stated: “We’re thrilled to see the first cohort of trainees complete the demanding programme with such enthusiasm and dedication.
“Their commitment to excellence and professionalism reflects the high standards we uphold at Merkur Casino in Aberdeen. We are confident that these newly trained croupiers will contribute significantly to our reputation for delivering an exceptional gaming experience.”
Trainee Ayodele Ladi-James shared their experience, commenting: “The training course was a challenging yet rewarding experience.
“Learning from industry experts and practising in a real casino environment has equipped me with the confidence and skills needed to start my career as a croupier. I’m excited to bring my passion for gaming to the tables at Merkur Casino.”
In related news, Grosvenor Casinos launched its own ‘Gaming Academy’ earlier this year – a scheme designed to help local individuals embark on careers as croupiers.
