Key points:

- The Game LLC partners with Takalam to offer mental health support and responsible gaming resources for UAE Lottery participants

- The collaboration includes educational materials, videos and free counselling sessions to help players manage gaming behaviours

- The initiative follows the launch of the UAE’s first regulated lottery in November 2024 under the oversight of the GCGRA

The Game LLC, operator of The UAE Lottery, has partnered with Takalam, an AI-powered mental health platform, to provide resources for players concerned about gambling-related behaviours.

The initiative aims to support responsible gaming through education, counselling and behavioural management tools.

The partnership includes a dedicated online portal offering articles, videos and unlimited free counselling sessions to address mental health challenges linked to gaming.

Takalam’s services are reportedly designed to help participants make informed decisions and manage any behavioural concerns confidentially.

James Boyles, Group Director for Responsible Gaming at The Game LLC, said: "We are proud to collaborate with Takalam to further our commitment to players’ well-being and responsible gaming. This partnership underscores our dedication to providing players with access to mental health resources and fostering a safe, supportive lottery environment for all."

Takalam’s CEO, Khawla Hammad, added: "At Takalam, we were happy to respond to The UAE Lottery’s call to support its mission in promoting well-being within the Lottery industry. This initiative underscores the importance of recognising when gaming begins to negatively impact mental well-being and offers support to help individuals regain balance.”

Good to know: The initiative builds on existing safeguards implemented by The UAE Lottery, including self-exclusion programs, age restrictions, awareness campaigns and geo-fencing technology

These measures aim to prevent harmful gambling behaviours and ensure compliance with regulations set by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA).

The UAE Lottery, launched in November 2024, marked the country’s first regulated lottery program. The inaugural draw featured a grand prize of AED 100m ($27.2m) and additional cash rewards.

This partnership follows earlier developments in the UAE gaming sector. In July 2024, the UAE issued its first gaming licences to operators Wynn Resorts and Aristocrat.
