Maryland casinos report $164.1m in December revenue, down 0.9%
State contributions from casino revenue totalled $69.8m, down 0.5% year-on-year.

Maryland Lottery and Gaming has reported $164.1m in combined revenue from slot machines and table games at the state’s six privately owned casinos during December 2024. The total represents a 0.9% year-on-year decrease.
State contributions from December gaming revenue reached $69.8m, reflecting a dip of 0.5%. Of this amount, $50.4m was allocated to the Education Trust Fund, also down 0.5%.
MGM National Harbor led the state’s casinos, generating $73.6m in revenue, a 4.0% increase. Live! Casino & Hotel followed with $59.1m, though this represented a 2.4% decline.
Horseshoe Casino Baltimore reported the largest percentage decrease, with revenue falling 12.9% to $13.2m. Hollywood Casino Perryville generated $7.1m, down 6.0%, while Rocky Gap Casino Resort brought in $3.9m, a decrease of 11.9%. Ocean Downs Casino saw a slight increase of 0.8%, generating $7.1m.
Through the first six months of fiscal year 2025, casino revenue has increased by 1.2% compared to the same period in 2024. State contributions from gaming revenue rose 2.5%, with Education Trust Fund contributions up 2.6%.
Good to know: Casino revenue continues to support state programs, including local jurisdictions, Maryland’s horse racing industry and small, minority and women-owned businesses.
December results follow November’s reported $158.1m in casino revenue. Contributions to the Education Trust Fund in November rose 4.2%, indicating positive trends earlier in the fiscal year.
