Key points:

- Altenar has secured its B2B supplier licence in Denmark

- It is one of the first companies to become regulated under the nation’s new system

Supplier Altenar has announced its entry into the Danish market, following approval of it B2B supplier licence by the Danish Gambling Authority (Spillemyndigheden).

After passing the Danish Gambling Authority’s (DGA) vetting process, Altenar has now gained certification to supply its sportsbook solution offerings to businesses in the market for the next five years.

Following the introduction of a new licensing system in Denmark, which was announced June last year and came into force on 1 January, Altenar has become one of the first gambling organisations to obtain a licence from the DGA under the new framework.

Applications for these licences began on 1 September 2024, therefore it is to be expected that more licences will begin to filter through for additional prospective companies in the coming weeks.

Commenting on this latest development, Magno Neiva, Head of Licensing and Regulatory Compliance at Altenar, said: “Securing the Danish B2B supplier licence represents a significant milestone for Altenar as it is one of Europe’s top 10 online betting markets with plenty of opportunity for growth.”

"We are excited to bring our award-winning sportsbook solutions to Danish players and remain committed to delivering further exceptional products and services that appeal to new audiences in the jurisdictions.”

Good to know: Starting 1 July 2025, adherence to Denmark’s new certification program will become mandatory

This latest development follows on from Altenar’s recent entry into the Georgian market via partnership with Ambassadoribet in June 2024.

Since that time, the supplier has also expanded its partnership with Swish Analytics to improve its Major League Baseball (MLB) betting offerings and entered a new sportsbook collaboration with BetStarters.

More recently, in December, the company also celebrated a national manufacturer licence in the South African market following approval from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.
