Fitzdares CEO William Woodhams has announced he will be stepping down from the role this coming Friday, after seven years with the bookmaker.
Woodhams joined Fitzdares, which calls itself “The world’s finest bookmaker,” in 2018, having previously been heavily involved in roles surrounding marketing.
Prior to taking on the position of Fitzdares CEO, he was the CMO with the clothing brand French Connection, and before that held the roles of Sales and Marketing Manager with LVMH and Marketing Manager with Network Corporate Holdings.
After his final day on Friday, Woodhams’ work will concentrate on being a Board Member with the marketing agency Marble and an Advisory Board Member with givestar.

Woodhams took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the news saying: “BORING PERSONAL INFO: This Friday I’ll be stepping down as CEO of Fitzdares after 7 glorious years. After Xmas I choose to move on and I’m excited to sit on a few boards and put my bookie feet up. This sadly ends 200 uninterrupted years of my family’s involvement in racing. X.”
Highlighting his influence on the industry, a number of known personalities responded to the post on the social media platform, including the Betting and Gaming Council’s (BGC) official account, BGC Chair Michael Dugher and Star Sports Group Chairman Sir Phillip Davies.
