Key points:
- Slight decrease in contacted customers reducing their gambling on average
- Increase in share of contacted customers who chose to self-exclude
Kindred Group has published a report looking into responsible gambling metrics for the Swedish market between July and December 2024.
These metrics are published every six months by licensed operators in Sweden looking into the percentage of customers who are contacted as a result of problematic gambling, the effect of proactive contacts, how much individuals have reduced their gambling on average and the share of contacted customers who self-excluded in less than six months and more than six months.
ATG, Svenska Spel and Kindred agreed to collaborate in October 2022 to publish harmful gambling data, with the aim of raising public awareness and contributing to a fact-based dialogue about the measures taken to reduce gambling harm.
Good to know: The Swedish Gambling Authority, Spelinspektionen, has published findings from a survey looking into the gambling habits of Swedes, which showed that 71% of Swedes had gambled for money in the past 12 months
Looking at the second half of 2024, 74.2% of customers who were contacted reduced their gambling on average, based on deposits, as an effect of proactive contacts. This figure is slightly down from the first half of last year at 76.9%.
There was however an increase in the share of contacted customers who chose to self-exclude from Kindred’s platform, with 2.4% in less than six months and 2.2% in six months or longer.
In related news, Svenska Spel themselves once again published its healthy revenue share for its latest financial report. In Q4, the operator achieved a healthy revenue share of 93.9%, with healthy revenue share up for the full year.
