Key points:
- BetBlocker now offers French language support to its app, making its services more accessible to millions of French-speaking users
- The charity’s expansion aligns with its goal of reaching communities, especially in France, Canada and parts of Africa
BetBlocker has announced the addition of French language support to its app, making it accessible to millions of French-speaking individuals. With the recent launch of its French language feature, the app now supports a total of 20 languages.
This is especially relevant given the estimated 34 million gamblers in France, along with French-speaking communities in Canada and parts of Africa. Duncan Garvie will be speaking at the Playsponsible Academy in Vienna on 3 April 2025 after his confirmation of the most recent language addition.
Good to know: BetBlocker’s app is free, anonymous and blocks access to over 90,000 gambling websites and 1,500 gambling apps
Garvie, BetBlocker Founder and Trustee, stated: “I’m really pleased to open up BetBlocker to French-speaking communities. With the recent launch of the US arm of our charity, raising our profile in North America is a strategic priority. This launch helps us support our French Canadian friends.
“Beyond this, I’m always keen to do whatever we can to support the emerging markets in Africa. This is an underserved community where a free and anonymous service like BetBlocker can make a meaningful difference to a lot of lives.
“I want to personally thank Xavi D. and Christina Theophilos for their tireless work supporting us to deliver this translation. BetBlocker could not have done this without them.”
