Esportes Gaming Brasil has announced the appointment of Hugo Baungartner as Executive Director of Institutional Relations and Strategic Partnerships.
Baungartner brings over 28 years of experience in the technology and gaming sectors, previously working at Aposta Ganha. He will join the leadership team with a focus on institutional engagement, regulatory affairs and business development.
His responsibilities include working with government and regulatory bodies such as the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA/MF), the Federal Revenue Service, the Central Bank and COAF, as well as certification bodies and approved laboratories.
He will also oversee the group’s response to changes in the legal and regulatory environment, support strategic partnerships and evaluate opportunities for mergers and acquisitions.

Baungartner’s appointment comes as Brazil expands its betting regulations to include esports titles such as Counter-Strike, Valorant and Fortnite.
His role also aligns with recent developments like Bragg Gaming Group’s launch in Brazil, with content including titles such as Egyptian Magic and Crazy Diamonds.
