High 5 Games reinstated as Connecticut supplier after regulatory review
Following a suspended licence and $1.5m settlement, High 5 Games has regained its supplier authorisation in Connecticut. However, the company is no longer a B2C operator in the state.
Key points:
– High 5 Games paid $1.5m to resolve an investigation into unlicensed iGaming activity
– The company voluntarily withdrew its sweepstakes offering in Connecticut prior to the licence review
– Supplier status has been reinstated, with enhanced geo-blocking and KYC tools deployed
High 5 Games has confirmed the reinstatement of its B2B gaming licence in Connecticut following a comprehensive review by the Department of Consumer Protection (DCP), allowing the company to resume operations as a licensed supplier within the state.
The licence had previously been suspended in March 2025 after allegations of unauthorised online casino activity involving the High 5 Casino platform.
A formal investigation by the DCP’s Gaming Division culminated in a financial settlement of nearly $1.5m, which included $800,000 for consumer protection programmes and a further $643,000 in player reimbursements.
In response, High 5 Games reiterated that it had voluntarily exited the Connecticut sweepstakes market prior to the review and emphasised that no legal violations had been confirmed.
Good to know: The company stated it remains committed to regulatory cooperation and transparency across all active jurisdictions
CEO Tony Singer said the company continues to invest in compliance infrastructure, including geo-blocking technology via its partnership with Xpoint and upgraded Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols to prevent unauthorised access.
In February 2025, High 5 Games withdrew sweepstakes services from six US states and Canada following mounting legal scrutiny. The Washington State court also ordered the company to pay nearly $25m in a separate case involving unlicensed social casino operations.
Despite these challenges, High 5 Games has maintained its content distribution agreements across licensed US platforms and remains active in multiple international markets.
