PAGCOR champions military development with PHP 600m PMAAAI Centre project

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has marked the ceremonial launch of the second phase of construction for the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association Inc. (PMAAAI) Centre for Leadership Excellence at Fort Andres Bonifacio in Taguig City.
The PHP 600m six-storey facility, funded entirely by Newport World Resorts Foundation, represents a major public-private initiative. The foundation is the social responsibility arm of a PAGCOR-licensed integrated resort operator.
Speaking at the ceremony on 10 June, PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco praised the initiative for exemplifying responsible gaming sector contributions to national development.

Tengco stated that the gaming industry, when properly regulated, plays a key role in empowering institutions like the Armed Forces. “This project will help institutionalise leadership values and provide a permanent venue for strategic forums and training,” he noted.
The initial phase saw a PHP 300m outlay for structural construction, followed by an additional PHP 300m for interior fit-out. Upon completion, the centre will also serve as PMAAAI’s new headquarters.
PAGCOR has recently reaffirmed broader support for defence infrastructure, including modern facilities at the Philippine Military Academy such as a warfare laboratory, new sports amenities and medical transport units.
Tengco described the project as a “solid proof” of what can be achieved through collaboration between public service and private enterprise, rooted in shared values of progress and patriotism.
