Key points:
- IGT will rebrand to Brightstar Lottery following the sale of its Gaming and Digital business
- The company will continue to provide its lottery operation and supplier services
International Game Technology (IGT) will begin trading under the name Brightstar Lottery. The rebrand will come following the sale of IGT’s Gaming and Digital business, which is expected to conclude as early as 1 July 2025, to Voyager Parent, a company owned by Apollo Global Management.
Apollo also owns Everi, following November's $6.3bn deal that will see Everi and IGT merge.
This deal bears similar hallmarks to when Scientific Games split its gaming and lottery divisions, rebranding to Light & Wonder on the game side and retaining its old name for lottery.
Brightstar is expected to be a pure-play lottery business, with new branding to reflect company goals of “acting as a guiding light and source of inspiration.”
It will continue to serve as a lottery operator, technology provider, instant ticker provider and game creator.
Good to know: Brightstar currently serves 90 lotteries across six continents and provides technology to 26 of the US’ 46 regulated lottery jurisdictions. Recently, it gained a supplier licence in the UAE
On the rebrand, CEO Vince Sadusky said: "We have a nearly 50-year history of reliability, innovation and leadership in lottery, a bedrock from which we are launching Brightstar with a future-forward mindset of helping lottery customers around the world succeed in an environment of digital adoption, shifting player expectations and an increasing variety of gaming choices.”
Executive Chair of the Board Marco Sala added: "Brightstar will be well-positioned to focus on driving innovation and growing the potential of the lottery business responsibly for the entertainment of players, the success of our customers and the support of the good causes they fund in their communities.”
