BetBlocker joins National Council on Problem Gambling as Gold Non-Profit Member
The membership places BetBlocker alongside a range of industry names as the sole Gold-level non-profit organisational member of the NCPG.
Key points:
– BetBlocker becomes the only blocking software provider to hold organisational membership with the NCPG, joining as a Gold Non-Profit Member
– The membership supports BetBlocker’s expansion into the US market, where brand awareness remains lower despite the mature gambling landscape
– The announcement follows recent language accessibility initiatives, including Serbian, Japanese and French versions
BetBlocker has announced its membership with the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) as a Gold Non-Profit Member, becoming the only blocking software provider to hold organisational membership with the US-based council.
Duncan Garvie, BetBlocker’s founder, described the move as part of the organisation’s focus on expanding its presence in the US market.
Garvie cited the US as a significant growth opportunity for BetBlocker, noting that while the country has an established and mature gambling market with high population engagement, brand awareness of BetBlocker remains lower than in other markets.
The NCPG membership therefore represents a commitment to US players and collaborating with the sector to increase signposting to BetBlocker’s services.
Good to know: Garvie also indicated that additional steps to strengthen BetBlocker’s US market presence would be announced in the coming weeks and months, suggesting the NCPG membership forms part of a broader expansion strategy
The announcement comes as BetBlocker continues expanding its global reach through language accessibility initiatives.
Recent developments include the launch of Serbian-language support back in May, facilitated through a partnership with Gamblers Connect, which provided translation services to serve over 10 million Serbian speakers worldwide.
Earlier in 2025, BetBlocker also introduced Japanese language support, extending its services to address gambling-related harms in Japan, where research indicates 39 million people engaged in gambling in 2019, with 4.4 million experiencing financial harm.
