As reported by Macao Daily, local authorities have arrested a female baccarat dealer and two mainland Chinese gamblers accused of defrauding a Cotai casino out of HK$123,000 by manipulating bet timing and payouts.

The Judiciary Police revealed that the 30-year-old Macau resident, surnamed Chan, had been employed at the gaming establishment since 2018. She is suspected of conspiring with two 36-year-old mainland men, surnamed Li and Liu, to commit fraudulent activities during her shift.

The casino filed a complaint on 8 July, alleging that the dealer had allowed unauthorised post-result betting at a baccarat table. Surveillance footage confirmed that on 2 July, Chan permitted her accomplices to place a HK$3,000 wager after the outcome was known and then deliberately paid out the chips.

A more serious incident took place on 7 July, when the two gamblers, along with an unidentified third individual, lost HK$60,000 in bets. Despite the loss, Chan placed the losing chips in the winning area and proceeded to issue a payout of HK$120,000, effectively doubling the return and causing financial damage to the casino.

The three suspects were apprehended at the casino on 9 July. Police seized over HK$118,000 in cash and chips from Li and Liu. During questioning, all three reportedly admitted to the scam, though Chan claimed she received no financial benefit.

Authorities believe at least one accomplice remains on the run. Investigations are ongoing to trace the stolen funds and determine if the group is linked to similar schemes in other venues.
