Coral extends sponsorship with ‘Glorious Goodwood’

Key points:

– Coral’s sponsorship of the Qatar Goodwood Festival extended by three years

– Operator will retain title sponsorship of 11 races over five days

– Nine races will be shown live on ITV

The Qatar Goodwood Festival has renewed its partnership with betting brand Coral for an additional three years.

Coral has sponsored the horseracing festival for three years already, but the new deal will take it up to 2027.

In total, 11 of the races at Goodwood will bear the name of the operator, nine of which will be televised live on ITV – these include the Group 2 Coral Vintage Stakes on the opening day of the meet and the Coral Stewards’ Cup on Saturday, the final day.

The event, which runs from 29 July to 2 August, is being ‘presented’ by Visit Qatar, the Middle Eastern country’s tourist marketing body.

Simon Clare, Coral PR Director said: “Like Goodwood, Coral is steeped in racing heritage and this partnership shows our continued commitment to being one of the longest-standing sponsors in British racing.”

Good to know: Entain is the parent company of the Coral brand and its CMO, Charlotte Emery, will ride in the Markel Magnolia Cup at Goodwood on Thursday 31 July

Alongside the race sponsorship itself, Coral is planning on producing video content to promote the meeting and its position as official fixed-odds betting partner.

Tony Langenegger, Partnership Sales Director, Goodwood Racecourse, said: “The Qatar Goodwood Festival is the highlight of our racing calendar, and we are delighted that Coral will be continuing as a partner for another three years.”

Back at the start of the year, Goodwood Racecourse, host of the festival, announced another partnership with 1/ST that means winners from the Pegasus World Cup meeting in Florida will receive entry into fixtures at the British course and vice versa.
