Mexican authorities in Sonora have confiscated nine slot machines during a coordinated operation targeting suspected illegal gambling activity in Hermosillo.
The raid was carried out by the national Criminal Investigation Agency, an investigative unit within the Sonora Attorney General’s Office responsible for criminal probes, in partnership with the Hermosillo Municipal Police.
Officers executed a judicial search warrant at a property located in the Colonia Altares neighbourhood.
Inside the premises, investigators found nine electronic gaming devices allegedly used for unauthorised gambling.
All the machines were seized and transferred to the national Operation Strategy Center which is under the State Public Prosecutor’s Office, where further examination will be overseen as part of the ongoing criminal case.
According to the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Sonora, the operation is part of a broader initiative to dismantle illegal gambling operations that authorities say can undermine community safety and cause economic harm in the country.
