Supplier Oryx Gaming has taken its first steps into the Colombian online gaming market by partnering with operator Wplay.

Oryx Gaming enters Colombia with Wplay partnership

After being the first to secure an online license after Colombia’s change to national regulatory laws, Wplay will now offer ORYX’s proprietary content, as well as games from Gamomat and Amatic.

Matevz Mazij, Oryx CEO, said: “Colombia’s online gaming market is one we have earmarked as a major goal in our business strategy for 2018 and 2019 and it’s excellent news we have agreed terms with Wplay.co.”

Colombia became the first Latin American country to legalise online gambling in 2016.

Wplay CEO, Julio César Tamayo Betancur, said: “Wplay members expect the very best user experience on the market and that foundation is built on pure entertainment. Oryx believes in the same principles and that is hugely important to us.

Only Corredor Empresarial has joined Wplay.co in obtaining an online gambling license, but it is likely that others will follow, with Ladbrokes and Grupo Cirsa planning to enter the market through a joint venture after debuting in Panama.
