GambleAware launches new Bet Regret campaign

GambleAware has unveiled its latest campaign to help prevent those who suffer from gambling addiction in Great Britain.

It is the largest-ever campaign the organisation has produced, designed to raise awareness around chasing losses.

It is estimated around 2.4 million men between the ages of 16 and 34 regularly gamble on sport online.

A survey conducted on behalf of GambleAware found 63% of young male sports bettors claimed there are too many betting opportunities and 67% of those who took part believed it is too easy to be lured into making impulsive bets.

BT Sport’s Matt Smith and former footballers Dean Saunders and Danny Gabbidon feature in GambleAware’s new advert, which will first air during Manchester United’s Premier League match with Liverpool on Sunday.

Minister for Sport and Civil Society, Mims Davies, said: “This groundbreaking joint campaign will make people think hard about their betting habits, assist to remove the stigma around gambling addiction and give people more courage to say they need help.”
