888 unable to welcome BetBright’s players

888 is currently not able to move BetBright’s players onto its platform, Gambling Insider understands.

Discussions are believed to be ongoing to find a solution to the problem.

888 purchased BetBright’s sports betting platform for £15m ($19.9m) on Monday, and its Dublin office will be integrated into the 888 Group.

It was then announced on Tuesday that BetBright was to permanently cease its gambling services and the operator encouraged its customers to withdraw all funds within a 30-day window.

888 said it will honour all Cheltenham Festival bets placed through BetBright.

Originally all unsettled bets were to be voided, angering players who had placed ante-post bets with the operator.

There has been no further update on any bets placed on other sports. As it stands, all unsettled bets away from the Festival will be voided.

Nottingham Forest Football Club, which currently has a front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with BetBright and previously 888, has said it is aware of the current situation and is in discussions with both parties.

A spokesperson for 888 said: “As a gesture of goodwill, 888 will be honouring and paying out on all winning Cheltenham Festival bets which were placed through BetBright’s sportsbook.”

The Gambling Commission is currently investigating the current situation on all unsettled bets placed with BetBright following disputes with its players.

Gambling Insider reached out to the Gambling Commission for comment.
