Knightscope signs agreement with Penn Entertainment for 43 properties

Knightscope, an autonomous security and blue light emergency communication system developer, has signed an agreement to provide 43 Penn Entertainment properties with its technology.

The deal is built on the foundation of a preview one that saw Knightscope deploy K5 Autonomous Security Robots at Penn Entertainment’s M Resort Spa Casino, based in Nevada.

Following this, subsequent deployments were rolled out at the Ameristar Casino Hotel Council Bluffs in Iowa and the Hollywood Casino Aurora in Illinois.

The new deal will cover an additional 43 properties owned and operated by Penn Entertainment, across both gaming and racing industries.

William Santana Li, Knightscope Chairman and CEO, said: “Penn Entertainment’s commitment to safety and the guest experience is extraordinary.

“We are overjoyed that we will be providing Knightscope technologies across its portfolio to protect the surge of guests arriving and departing from all of its properties daily.”

The K5 Knightscope Autonomous Security robot has been developed to operate in low light conditions through the use of four cameras and an array of 16 microphones.

So far, the robots have also been deployed across a range of shopping centres, warehouses, hospitals, casinos and offices.

The models can be used to patrol areas, detecting the presence of people during restricted hours through thermal cameras.

In addition, the robots come built with license plate recognition for strict security measures from operators.

Last month, Penn Entertainment made headlines with its deal with ESPN for the launch of ESPN Bet.
