Allwyn announces Board changes ahead of National Lottery takeover, including Seb Coe

Allwyn is making changes to its UK Board.

The operator will see Keith Mills step down from his position as Senior Independent Non-Executive Director, which will be effective from 31 January 2024.

Mills was one of the bid team who managed to successfully campaign for the Fourth National Lottery Licence to go to Allwyn over Camelot, which had historically held the licence.

This led to some disputes, the last of which was only dismissed two days ago when IGT discontinued its appeal against the High Court decision relating to damages against the Gambling Commission.

Justin King, Allwyn UK Chair, said: “Allwyn has benefited enormously from Sir Keith’s considerable experience and expertise. He leaves with our sincere thanks.”

While Mills will be able to continue to support the Allwyn Group in an advisory capacity, he will remain as Chair of the Board of Camelot, until at least June 2024.

To fill the position on the Board, Allwyn has appointed two people.

On 1 February 2024, Sebastian Coe will join as the company’s new Senior Independent Non-Executive Director, while Simon Burke will be introduced as the Independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee

King said: “I am delighted to welcome Seb and Simon to the Allwyn Board; they are great additions who will bring valuable continuity in Board level oversight of The National Lottery between the Third and Fourth Licences.”

Both Coe and Burke are also Non-Executive Directors at Camelot, but Coe will step down from his position before joining Allwyn.
