Superbet Group joins European Gaming and Betting Association
The development sees Superbet set to contribute to EGBA's work on responsibility, safer gambling and anti-money laundering.
Key points:
– Superbet Group has joined EGBA, aligning with the Association’s goals to enhance industry standards in Europe
– The timing of this announcement coincides with anticipated EU regulatory changes in digital sectors
The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) has officially welcomed Superbet Group as its latest member.
Through its EGBA membership, Superbet will actively contribute to initiatives focused on responsible advertising, safer gambling and compliance with the latest EU anti-money laundering (AML) directives.
This collaborative effort comes as new EU legislation affecting digital sectors, including online gambling, is anticipated from the European Commission.
Commenting on Superbet’s EGBA membership, Albert Simsensohn, Superbet Group COO, stated: “This is an important chapter in our journey, as becoming members of EGBA demonstrates our commitment to nurture a sustainable growth for our company, while adhering to the highest standards of compliance across all our markets.
“We are prepared to work closely with EGBA, exchanging industry best practices and ensuring that our industry operates in a fair and properly regulated European environment.”
Maarten Haijer, EGBA Secretary General, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Superbet Group to EGBA, further strengthening our industry representation.
“Superbet’s expertise and market focus will be invaluable to call upon as EGBA continues its drive to set high industry standards and promote a safe and competitive online gambling environment in Europe. We look forward to working with our new colleagues.”
This news comes after EGBA welcomed a new EU anti-money laundering package earlier this year. This package contains the establishment of the European Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA), the 6th Anti-Money Laundering Directive and a new Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR).
