The Dream Team? Midnite partners with The Sun for UK fantasy football

Key points:

– The Sun Dream Team league has found an official partner in Midnite

– Players have the chance to win cash prizes up to £60,000 ($80,726)

– Midnite will run ads on The Sun’s Dream Team section of the website

Midnite has partnered with The Sun for the return of the Dream Team leagues.

As the official partner of the Dream Team league, Midnite’s branding will be visible across the league and the operator will run ads on The Sun website featuring betting offers.

The experience will be supported by The Sun Sport’s news updates that could affect player choices and decisions as they play each week.

Owen Griffiths, The Sun Commercial Revenue Director, said: “As we look forward to the 2025/2026 Football season, we’re delighted to partner with Midnite and offer fans the ultimate cash reward and an alternative way to interact with their favourite players in the biggest football league in the world.

“The Sun Dream Team is an important part of our identity, and this collaboration will enable fans to fully utilise all we have to offer, while also providing Midnite a new audience to strengthen its position as a disruptor brand in the market.”

Ryan Murton, Midnite VP of Commercial, said: “We are incredibly proud to partner with The Sun for Dream Team. The competition is a true institution in fantasy football, with a long history of engaging millions of fans.

“As a challenger brand, this partnership is a significant milestone for Midnite and a testament to our commitment to disrupting the market.

“We look forward to delivering a truly best-in-class fantasy experience, blending The Sun’s heritage with our cutting-edge, proprietary technology for a new generation of players.”

A few weeks ago, Midnite partnered with Playzia for its Love Island games, perhaps suggesting the operator is trying to integrate pop culture IPs within the platform.

While the Dream Team leagues are usually populated by people familiar with sports betting, deals such as the one above could be seen as Midnite trying to diversify its player base.

Good to know: The Sun Dream Team presents a unique opportunity for participants to win various cash prizes, including a grand prize of £60,000

Dream Team covers several football competitions, including the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League and Europa League.

Players can receive points for goals, assists, clean sheets and being on the pitch for more than an hour.

The Sun journalists can also award bonus points for Player Performance Marks (PPM).
