Two of a kind: EvenBet seals Africa-based deal with Hollywoodbets

Key points:

– EvenBet Gaming has launched its online poker platform with Hollywoodbets in South Africa

– The service is among the first full-scale online poker offerings available on the continent

EvenBet Gaming has launched its online poker platform with Hollywoodbets.

The agreement introduces one of the first fully operational online poker services in Africa. The platform will initially feature Texas Hold’em, with additional formats expected to follow.

Hollywoodbets has operated in South Africa for decades and provides sports betting and gaming products from different international suppliers. The addition of poker expands its existing digital portfolio.

For EvenBet, this launch marks its first poker deployment in South Africa. The company has stated that Africa represents a market with long-term potential, supported by wider mobile access, improving internet infrastructure and growing interest in skill-based gaming.

Dmitry Starostenkov, EvenBet Gaming, stated: “Partnering with Hollywoodbets to deliver one of Africa’s first fully functional online poker offerings is a landmark moment for us and for the continent.

Good to know: Online poker remains in its early stages across Africa, with only a limited number of large-scale platforms currently available

“Hollywoodbets’ scale, reputation and deep local expertise make them the perfect partner to introduce a world-class poker experience to South African players.”

Wayde Dorkin, Hollywoodbets Head of Product, added: “This marks an exciting new chapter for us and our players, bringing world-class online poker action to the local market with the quality, innovation and trust that have made Hollywoodbets a household name.”

In 2024, EvenBet entered the Netherlands after receiving certification from the Dutch regulator, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), becoming one of only a few providers offering online poker in the market. The company also partnered with Colombian operator FullReto to integrate its poker solution and expand its presence in Latin America.
