Western Michigan’s Justice Williams Cleared in NCAA Gambling Investigation, Returns to Action
Western Michigan redshirt senior guard Justice Williams returned to the basketball court Tuesday night, Dec. 30, after being cleared from an NCAA investigation into suspicious gambling activity.
Back in late October, the school suspended the Philadelphia native and Robert Morris transfer prior to the start of the regular season due to alleged activities that happened before his transfer to the MAC school.
The suspension was part of the NCAA’s overall ongoing gambling investigation into the sport and came a week after the bombshell NBA investigation that involved Chauncey Billups and Terry Rozier.
Williams Leads WMU in Loss to Toledo
After close to two months of non-competition, Williams came off the bench to lead four Broncos (6-8, 0-2 Mid-American Conference) in double figures with a team-high 20 points in WMU’s 84-79 loss at Toledo, its first road conference contest of the season.
Williams spent the past two seasons with Robert Morris but sat out the entire 2024-25 campaign with a knee injury. Prior to that, the first two seasons of his collegiate career were at LSU (2021-23).
Western Michigan’s next game is at Miami of Ohio at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 6 as they look to snap a two-game skid.
