Genius Sports becomes exclusive data distributor for Polish basketball
The Polish Basketball League (PLK) and Polish Basketball Association (PZK) are the newest sports organisations to grant Genius Sports Group (GSG) exclusive rights to distribute live data and video from their local championships.
The partnership is agreed for the next 10 years starting from the 2021-22 season, announced Genius Sports on Thursday.
Genius Sports distributes live data and video from Polish basketball to its global network of sportsbook partners, providing comprehensive real-time information thus allowing bookmakers and gamers to adjust their behaviour and decisions simultaneously.
The data operator will continue to provide Polish basketball with its leading data collection, management and distribution solutions. It will feed the tool FIBA LiveStats, which will capture advanced play-by-play statistics including shot and turnover locations at eight competitions and more than 1,800 games per season. GeniusLive and GeniusLive+ are powering live streaming solutions as well for leagues and federations at all levels of world sport, delivering vital visibility and new revenue opportunities such as broadcasts, data-driven graphics and highlights.
On October 27, Genius Sports entered into a business combination agreement with dMY Technology Group II, Inc. to drive its expansion as a leading provider of official data and technology. The combined company, NewCo, will be publicly listed on the New York Stock Exchange and its estimated value is approximately $1.5 billion.
