The temporary DraftKings sportsbook at Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge will offer Louisiana customers an in-person betting service, including 20 self-serve kiosks and three over-the-counter ticket booths.
The casino, currently located on a riverboat docked on the Mississippi River, already offers approximately 27,000 square feet of gambling space, with 859 gaming machines and 12 tables.
Michael Kibort, Senior Director of Retail Sportsbooks, DraftKings, commented: “We’re excited to expand our DraftKings footprint in Louisiana, showcasing our commitment to the region with the opening of our second retail sportsbook space.
“Through our collaboration with CQ Holding Company and Hollywood Casino, we look forward to revolutionising the sports betting experience, while providing sports fans with an outstanding entertainment facility in Baton Rouge.”
Recently, construction started on a permanent, land-based casino, adjacent to the current riverboat facility. Eventually, the new Hollywood Casino will offer 100,000 square feet of gambling space, including a permanent DraftKings sportsbook.
Terry Downey, President and CEO, CQ Holding Company, said: “The temporary DraftKings Sportsbook at Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge will provide customers with new, exciting ways to enjoy this historic property, and we’re thrilled our expanded DraftKings partnership will offer guests its premier sports betting technology.
“We believe this temporary DraftKings Sportsbook space will lay the foundation for one of the most engaging sports viewing environments, which will be further elevated upon the opening of the proposed permanent DraftKings Sportsbook next year.”
The first collaboration between DraftKings and CQ Holding Company culminated in the launch of a permanent sportsbook at Casino Queen, in Illinois.
Similarly, DraftKings launched a temporary sportsbook at the venue in 2020, before opening a new facility on 23 March this year featuring a 60-foot video wall, 38 betting kiosks and a VIP area.
