Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has promoted Pierre Otto to General Manager, South Africa, following regulatory approval.

Otto joined GLI in 2017 and most recently held the position of Senior Engineering Manager. He formerly held the positions of Compliance and Quality Manager, as well as Engineering Manager.

Otto has an extensive background in the African gaming sector, and has worked on both the operator and supplier sides of the business.

He had a variety of technical positions at Sun International properties before joining GLI, including Senior Sales Manager at Scientific Games, Operations Director for WMS Gaming Africa and Technical Manager at The Carousel Casino.

Devon Dalbock, COO, EMEA, said: “We are thrilled to have Pierre leading our South Africa team. His diverse range of experience is incredibly valuable, both to our clients and to our employees. He is a proven leader with the knowledge, skill and vision to help our clients successfully navigate the industry's exciting future across Africa."

Meanwhile, GLI Group purchased all of iTech Labs' outstanding shares in May 2023.

The gaming testing facility iTech Labs, which has been in business since 2004, is currently a fully owned subsidiary of GLI Australia. ITech Labs is conducting testing now from several locations in Australia, Asia and Europe.

Through this purchase, GLI's network of laboratories and connections to international regulators will be available to clients of iTech.

James R. Maida, President at GLI Group, said: "We are pleased iTech will continue to be branded as iTech and will operate as they have over the past 19 years.”
