As is tradition for the past few years, UK operators from the Betting and Gaming Council (BCG) will donate all profits from the Britannia Stakes race at Royal Ascot to a number of different charities.

These names include Flutter, which owns Paddy Power, Betfair and Sky Bet; bet365; Entain, who owns Ladbrokes and Coral; 888 William Hill; Kindred, who own Unibet; Betway; Rank Group, who owns Grosvenor Sport; Virgin Bet; LivescoreBet; Tote; Fitzdares and Bet with Ascot.

Michael Dugher, BGC Chief Executive, said: “Royal Ascot remains one of Britain’s most historic and world-renowned sporting spectacles of the year, and I am delighted once more it is raising vital funds for a host of outstanding charities.

“The BGC’s largest members are proud to honour the King’s Coronation by once again donating all profits from the Britannia Stakes to worthy causes.

“It is also a fitting tribute to the Late Queen Elizabeth II, whose passion for horse racing was known throughout the world, having bred so many successful horses and clocking up 1,800 winners in her time."

Last year, the bookmakers raised a total of £1.2m ($1.5m) for different organisations, with over £5.5m raised since this initiative started in 2019.

The money raised will come from all profits, including win and each way bets, once any duties and levies have been deducted.

In the case of the bookmakers failing to make a profit, they had made an agreement to make a combined donation of £250,000 regardless.

The charities picked for this year include the Holocaust Educational Trust, Cystic Fibrosis Trust, SAS Regimental Association (SASRA), Ascot Racecourse Supports, Together for Looked After Children and SportsAid, whose Patron is Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales.

This isn't the only cause for celebration regarding the race, though, as Incentive Games has teamed up with bet365 to launch a free-to-play horseracing betting game for the Royal Ascot.
