Stats Perform, a sports technology known for its Opta sports data brand, has announced that it has extended its partnership with Football DataCo.

This 10-year-long extension will involve the gathering of comprehensive event data from major English and Scottish football leagues.

These leagues encompass the acclaimed English Premier League, among others, with the collected data slated for distribution across a global network encompassing media outlets, fantasy platforms, broadcast entities and professional teams.

This extension also includes pivotal data distribution categories including the continuation of the distribution of Official Player Tracking Data, which is expected to offer insights into both on- and off-ball actions.

Further, it involves AI-powered Official Insight Data distribution to broadcasters and media entities, providing coverage quality and depth.

Lastly, the renewal includes the provision of Official Player Market Data to licenced sportsbooks and operators, a data stream set to bolster both pre-game and in-play betting opportunities centered around player statistics, including the metric of shots-on-target.

Alex Rice, Stats Perform CCO, said: “At Stats Perform, we are committed owners of our large, deep Opta football data API. We think carefully about how and what we collect, how we store the data, but more importantly how we distribute and use it to help our customers tell more memorable stories about the on-field action.”

Adrian Ford, FDC General Manager, said: “The value of data in building trusted fan and bettor experiences continues to grow and that enhances the reputation of our competitions, wherever they are enjoyed. Opta is a key enabler for all the Leagues’ stakeholders and fans, who want the best data and insights.”
