Game developer and aggregator 1X2 Network has partnered with Skywind Group to bring its portfolio of games to the operator's Romanian sites.
Sites where the games will be available include princesscasino.ro, cashpot.ro and luck.com.ro among others. The games include Plinko Go, Smoking Hot Fruits and Maverick alongside other titles.
1X2 is one of several suppliers that have partnered with Skywind Group to bring their portfolios to Romania. Earlier this month slot studio Thunderkick partnered with the operator to expand its presence in the country, with Thunderkick Head of Sales Fredrik Ekholm calling Romania a ‘key market.’
In the past two months, there has been notable growth in partnerships between operators and suppliers launching or expanding their presence in Romania. Other examples include Octoplay’s partnership with Superbet in mid-December and BGaming’s partnership with WinBet in early January, as well as Imagine Live’s announcement this week of a new live casino studio set to be in development in the capital city of Bucharest.

Intellectual property lawyer and member of the Romanian National Chamber of Intellectual Property Attorneys Anna-Maria Baciu explained: “Currently, there are around 475 Class 2 licences for suppliers in the gambling field... issued by the Romanian regulator since 2016... There are between 140 and 150 licences issued for software/game suppliers, with around 25 issued in 2023 alone.”
She said that, despite changes to licensing fees since October 2023, the market has continued to thrive.
