Softswiss has continued its efforts in providing aid to flood-affected regions of Brazil.

The provider, which began its emergency aid charity campaign in May following floods in the country, has now gone on to focus on its long-term project of providing clean water equipment to the areas affected. This is due to clean water and hygiene materials being challenging to access, despite water levels having now decreased.

Softswiss’ projects, specifically, aim to bring clean water to two schools, being done in collaboration with PW Tech. These schools are Rui Barbosa Municipal Elementary School in Nova Santa Rita and Machado de Assis Municipal Elementary School in Rolante, located 25km and 135km from Porto Alegre respectively.

The clean water facilities are expected to aid the 100 students and staff at the two schools, as well as the 300 surrounding families in the area.

With support from Rubens Barrichello, Softswiss and PW Tech have begun work on installing the clean water systems, including obtaining local government approvals and conducting water analysis. As well as providing clean water, the schools will also begin educating students, teachers and the community on the importance of clean water.

Softswiss Non-Executive Director in Latin America Barrichello said: “When we started this charity project, I was convinced that it should not be just a one-time financial help. The immediate crisis passes and first aid is provided but people are left to deal with all the eco-social consequences.

"I am glad that the company shares my beliefs and is committed to a serious, long-term approach. Softswiss has a lasting business presence in Brazil with dedicated staff, and we are ready to do everything we can to support the local communities and contribute to their development.”
