Merkur Group named official partner of RB Leipzig

The deal is initially set to last two years.

RB (Red Bull) Leipzig has announced its new official partner ahead of the start of the Bundesliga season this weekend. 

Merkur Group will become the new official partner of the team in a deal initially set to last two years. 

Through this collaboration, the Merkur brand, as well as the Merkur Bets brand, will be visible during league matches at the Red Bull Arena and on live TV via LED advertising boards and Cam Carpets. 

On top of this, Merkur will present the Bundesliga table for the club’s men’s team on all digital media. 

RB Leipzig CCO Matthias Reichwald said: “The Merkur Group has followed an impressive path for many years, which has led the company consistently upwards: with creativity, flexibility, enthusiasm and, above all, total conviction.

“It's with these qualities precisely that we are constantly pursuing our goals at RB Leipzig and we now have another excellent partner by our side in Merkur. With this partnership, we want to create special synergies for both brands: both for the live football experience in the stadium and on the digital platforms."

With the domestic football season now underway, this week has seen a plethora of gambling sponsorship deals within the sport. 

This has included Betway becoming the official betting partner of Nottingham Forest and the global betting partner of Bologna FC, Parimatch renewing its partnership with Leicester City, CasinoSecret renewing its sponsorship agreement with AS Monaco, and most significantly bet365 becoming the first sports betting brand to partner with the UEFA Champions League
