Next week will see a launch event for a brand-new safety solution in the gambling industry known as GamProtect.
GamProtect is a scheme for operators to securely share information with other participating operators of the scheme, for customers who most need support and protection from gambling harm.
It has been facilitated by the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) with support from the participating operators, the Gambling Commission, the Information Commissioners’ Office and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).
The event launching GamProtect will take place next week on Wednesday 11 September at Prospero House in London and will include those who have been key in creating the scheme.
During the workshop, it will be highlighted how GamProtect will operate in practice, such as its technical aspects, as well as addressing any considerations related to data protection and safer gambling.
GamProtect Chairman Kane Purdy said: “After four years hard work, we are delighted to officially launch GamProtect and welcome the entire sector to learn more about what it is and how it works.
“GamProtect truly is designed by industry, for industry, and we believe what we say, it is the most advanced safety solution available to operators today.
“We will be joined by a host of speakers, from industry, current GamProtect users and from senior representatives, including Tim Miller from the Gambling Commission, which is supporting the event, plus there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions."
