BC.Game withdraws Curaçao Licence in compliance move

Key points:

– BC.GAME has officially withdrawn its Curaçao licence due to outdated legal protections and a challenging regulatory environment

– The company remains compliant with international regulations and continues to operate under licences from other jurisdictions

BC.Game has announced its decision to withdraw its operating licence from Curaçao.

This development comes after BC.Game attained its Curaçao licence earlier this year – complying with the relatively recent National Ordinance for Games of Chance (LOK) regulatory framework from Curaçao.

The subsequent decision to withdraw this licence highlights challenges operators still face in the region due to outdated regulatory frameworks and insufficient legal protections, including vulnerabilities in Curaçao’s bankruptcy laws, which date back to 1931.

Despite ongoing efforts to modernise iGaming legislation in Curaçao, BC.Game cited the region’s increasingly inhospitable environment for operators as a key factor in its decision.

The withdrawal of the Curaçao licence will not affect BC.Game’s global operations. The platform holds gaming licences in multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in other regions.

BC.Game emphasised that this decision is part of its broader strategy to align with more robust and modern regulatory frameworks that better support international operations and enhance user security.

The withdrawal from Curaçao, according to BC.Game, is therefore a step to strengthen its operational foundation and ensure long-term sustainability.
