Kambi Group selected by FDJ to take over contract with OLG

Key points:

– Kambi is set to become the new long-term sports betting partner for OLG

– A number of conditions are to be met, but should be completed in H2 2025

Kambi Group is set to take over FDJ’s contract with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) after the signing of a novation agreement.

This novation process is subject to conditions and Kambi is anticipating for the multi-channel migration to be completed in H2 2025. But, the three parties involved have agreed to this process, with FDJ identifying Kambi as its preferred assignee for this contract.

Kambi will have to also make a material initial investment as part of this process, and once everything is completed, the sports betting supplier will be the new long-term sports betting partner for OLG.

Good to know: Kambi Group has today also confirmed a multi-year extension to its partnership with Dutch online betting operator BetCity, which will continue to utilise Kambi’s turnkey sportsbook solution

In August 2021, Sporting Solutions and FDJ announced the launch of OLG’s new online sportsbook, Proline+, which at the time was the first and only legal online sportsbook in the Canadian province, and up until April 2022, OLG was the sole legal provider of online sports betting and gaming there.

Kambi Group CEO Werner Becher said: “The prospect of partnering with an organisation of the size and stature of OLG is an exciting one for Kambi and we are working diligently to complete the novation process with FDJ and launch later this year.

“Ontario has a competitive online market, but I believe a combination of OLG and Kambi will see PROLINE rightly compete with market leaders while continuing to raise the bar of its retail product.”
