Key points:
- BMM Testlabs has received approval from the GCGRA to begin testing gaming products in the UAE
- The company will roll out its testing services for lottery, land-based and digital products in the nation
- BMM Testlabs becomes one of only four gambling-related companies to have been certified in the newly regulated UAE market
An announcement by BMM Testlabs has confirmed the company’s approval by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) to begin testing and certifying gaming products for the newly incepted United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) licenced lottery.
BMM Testlabs will now utlise its experience in gaming and penetration testing, as well as product compliance for a multitude of gambling sectors and corporations to help the UAE’s newly formed regulator to test products in the nation’s burgeoning market. BMM Testlabs will initiate testing for the UAE lottery, which held its first official draw in December 2024, as well as land-based and digital gaming products. As such, the organisation has become one of the few companies to have received regulatory approval from the GCGRA to operate in the UAE market.
Indeed, after initial reports that Wynn Resorts was eyeing a $2.4bn casino development project in the UAE, the operator became the first company to be granted a licence for its Al Marjan Island development in the nation in October 2024. This announcement was closely followed later in the month by confirmation that Aristocrat had received the first gaming-related vendor licence from the GCGRA. Most recently, earlier in April, Novomatic became the second company to be granted the same gaming vendor licensure by the GCGRA.
Speaking on BMM Testlabs’ entry into the market, CEO Martin Storm said: “We are excited and deeply honoured that the GCGRA has entrusted BMM Testlabs with the responsibility of testing products for their new lottery, land-based and digital gaming program, knowing that we’ll do so with the highest levels of impartiality, technical expertise, transparency, efficiency and, most of all, integrity.”
Good to know: The UAE granted licence for its first authorised lottery operation in July 2024
For BMM Testlabs, this latest update falls closely behind the announcement that the company is set to be acquired by The Vizualize Group – a private investment firm specialising in services-based businesses.
As part of this deal, Storm is set to retain a significant ownership holding of the company, alongside his current role as CEO, with plans for employee ownership and global expansion initiatives also having been outlined. As of yet, all financial details remain unreleased, with the acquisition also yet to receive official regulatory approval.
