Key points:
- New electronic gaming product to go live by early June
- Solaire North expansion expected to support revenue growth
- Online shift seen as response to decline in POGO activity
Bloomberry Resorts Corporation has announced plans to launch a new electronic gaming platform by the second quarter of 2025, part of its strategy to offset losses from the exit of Philippine offshore gaming operators.
Chairman and Chief Executive Enrique Razon said the platform is undergoing final testing and is expected to launch in late May or early June. The product will complement the company’s existing online service, Solaire Online, and is intended to broaden its reach within the mass market gaming segment.
Razon stated that the pivot toward online gaming forms part of Bloomberry’s wider strategy to recover revenues affected by the POGO ban, which took effect in July last year. He added that digital gaming would serve as a long-term growth pillar alongside land-based operations.
The company is also investing in its new integrated resort, Solaire North, which is being positioned to absorb further growth in the domestic market. Razon expressed optimism over the country’s economic outlook, citing projections from government economic managers who forecast gross domestic product growth of between 6% and 8% annually until 2028.
With income levels expected to rise, the firm anticipates increased discretionary spending that may benefit the gaming sector. Razon welcomed government efforts to attract international tourists, including the introduction of a tax refund programme for non-resident visitors.
Looking ahead, Bloomberry aims to return Solaire Entertainment City to growth, achieve profitability at Solaire North and expand its presence in digital gaming.
